What is ur point?
ur point is a social media platform with a focus on giving users a more positive experience than the other platforms in the marketplace. We don't profess to know it all already so you could see ur point as a kind of social media experiment. We endeavour to constantly improve the social media experience we provide based on our members feedback, and customer satisfaction.
What happens if I am trolled on ur point?
ur point has a "Be Kind Policy" that all members need to agree to when they sign up. Simply put, if someone abuses you or trolls you, they will be removed from the platform. Software is in place to stop most kinds of abuse but there is also a reporting feature for members to report any form of abuse. Incidents will be investigated, and offenders will be removed from the site.
What happens to offensive posts whilst an investigation takes place?
Members of ur point will have the ability to remove anything they find offensive from their comments and walls immediately. Members are also able to block people they have reported from viewing their profile and posts to prevent any repeat abuse.
Do ur point charge me to use ur sos?
No. As long as you have the use of Wi-Fi or Mobile Data is available on your device, (3G, 4G, & 5G), you will be able to send a sos message with no additional charge from ur point.
What if Wi-Fi or Mobile Data is unavailable?
If you are out of area for any type of mobile data or Wi-Fi, your attempt to send an sos message will fail but Artificial Intelligence will see this and attempt to deliver an SMS Message instead.
How many people will receive my sos message?
Contacts known as "ur 5", can be selected to receive these messages. You don't have to select 5 people, you can choose a lower or even a higher amount.
Does ur sos call the emergency services?
No. If you are in an emergency situation you should first call the emergency services before you use ur sos. ur sos is an additional way for you to get help from people who care about you, not an alternative way to call the emergency services.
How do ur point intend to offer a more positive experience?
At ur point, we have a zero-tolerance to racism, trolling, and any type of hurtful abuse. People on other platforms often complain that there isn't enough done to curb these unacceptable behaviours. ur point is offered add-free so users will not be targeted by third parties with sales offers based on their internet history. No invasive cookies are used on ur point.
Can trolls create a new account with a new email?
No. It is not possible to create an account without a new mobile phone number. Each new account is verified by an email and text message verification code. Trolls will not be able create fake accounts easily as they do on other sites. The same mobile phone number or email address cannot be used more than once.
What is ur sos?
ur sos is a unique feature on ur point that enables a user to send an emergency message for help to 5 contacts of their choice. This could help people in all kinds of situations; whether that's a date that's gone wrong or you're feeling worried as your walking home alone.
What is ur beacon?
ur beacon is a feature that can be used if you need someone to talk to but you don't quite know how to ask. Members can simply light their beacon and 5 trusted contacts will be notified discreetly to get in touch.
Do I need to say what's wrong when I light my beacon?
No, ur beacon is just a press or a click of a button. This will notify people to get in touch with you. By choosing the people who are closest to you, who know you best, you should receive the support that you need in your time of need.
What if no one responds to my beacon?
When you use ur beacon you will also be given the information you need to contact The Samaritans (UK Only). If none of your 5 contacts respond quickly enough, we advise that you contact The Samaritans for some confidential advice and support.
Do ur point collect data about me?
Absolutely not. ur point do not track our members online or offline. We do not collect any data about you to sell-on to third parties.
